Guidelines for the management of patients with an absent or dysfunctional spleen: Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) and Meningococcal C Vaccines

Vaccine should be given to all asplenic patients who have not previously been immunised as a child. A booster dose is given to those who have been previously immunised.

Has the patient been previously immunised?
- Yes, to both Hib and Meningococcal C.
- No, not immunised to either Hib, Meningococcal C or both.
